Movie Faceoff
Ajay Devgn's Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are vying for the Rs 250 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Singham Again garnered Rs 173 crore in its opening week and Rs 47.5 crore in its second week. The film earned approximately Rs 2.75 crore on its second Friday, pushing its total India box office collection to Rs 223.25 crore. It saw a 23.26% occupancy across its Hindi shows on Friday, according to Sacnilk.
Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 continues to trail Singham Again. The horror-comedy earned Rs 158.25 crore in its first week and Rs 58 crore in its second. On its second Friday, it made around Rs 4 crore, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 220.25 crore. The film had a slightly higher occupancy of 24.27% in Hindi shows.
Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel forecasts Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will cross Rs 250 crore by its third weekend and could approach Rs 300 crore in lifetime earnings.
Both films, which were released on November 1, continue to dominate the box office despite competition. However, Kanguva, starring Suriya, has underperformed, receiving negative reviews due to its weak script, over-the-top presentation, and limited screen time for Bobby Deol's character. Kanguva earned Rs 24 crore on its opening day, but its two-day total is only around Rs 33 crore in India.
Film critic Nishit Shaw awarded Kanguva one-and-a-half stars, expressing his disappointment on X: "Kanguva is UNBEARABLE. Director Siva's effort is evident, but the lacklustre writing turns it into a letdown. The constant exaggerated presentation, loud howls, and forced build-ups only irritate the audience. The execution is flawed. NOT RECOMMENDED (sic)."
